Immune-peptide terms and care questions

Approval: what has actually been checked?

FDA approval
Approval belongs to a specific medicine and its named use, rather than to the word “peptide”.

FDA (Food and Drug Administration) reviews medicines for US approval.

Is “FDA registered” the same thing?

Registering a drug-making business with FDA records the business. A drug listing records a product with FDA. Neither record gives the product FDA approval or, by itself, permission to sell it.

Ask to see the approval for the actual product, rather than a registration badge.

Does a government product code settle it?

No. NDC stands for National Drug Code. It identifies a product in the agency directory.

The FDA states that having an NDC does not show a product has its approval.

What if the offer says the pharmacy is FDA-approved?

FDA does not approve doctors’ offices. With compounding, the doctor or pharmacist prepares the medicine to order; FDA has not approved it.
