Immune-peptide terms and care questions
Telehealth: how should an online visit work?
Telehealth
Telehealth means care by phone, video, or written online messages. You and the clinician may speak live or send information for the other person to read later.
Clinician means the health professional who checks your health problem and discusses your care.
Is a form always a problem?
No. Online-care advice comes from a national group whose members are boards overseeing doctors: the Federation of State Medical Boards. A first visit, under that advice, can be live or involve the doctor reviewing information you sent earlier. Either way, the doctor must get enough information to judge your health problem and give proper care.
Its advice does not accept a form with fixed answer choices as a complete assessment by itself. The doctor needs a way to put further questions to you and collect enough information for your care.
This is advice for doctors. The rules they must follow by law depend on your state, as recorded September 26, 2026.
Can I ask the clinician questions I bring to the visit?
Under the group’s May 2026 advice, patients must have the opportunity to raise further questions of their own with the clinician.
Ask the clinician how you can contact them afterward. Get an answer before committing to an ongoing service.
Is a treatment menu enough?
Its May 2026 advice also says the doctor must check your health problem before treating you. A menu choice by the patient cannot replace that check.
A useful conversation can end with a different plan or with no prescription. Ask what happens in either case.
Can a rule from another state settle my visit?
No. The state examples checked September 26, 2026 differ on questionnaires and phone-only care.
Before the appointment, state where you will be sitting. Ask how that state’s rules shape the visit.
Check who is authorized to see you
Ask it plainly: “Can we discuss my concern before choosing a treatment?”
